The World Ends With You is already in the
running for the best DS game of the year.
The storyline is so perfectly built that if
you don't feel a connection with almost
every character, you have no soul.
This game may not be in 3d but it still
shines in its amazing battle system. You
fight as two seperate characters on both
screens for every battle. The bottom is
controlled with the stylus and the top is
controlled with the control pad or the
X, Y, A and B buttons for lefties. The story
is amazing and always keeps you guessing
as to what is going to happen next. The
bosses are all challenging in their own ways
and the multiple pins (attacks for your
bottom screen character) leave many
unique strategies open for anyone who is
willing to give them a go. Every character
has an emotion to go with them and all of
them have their own stories. Each one
with a different background and beliefs
gives a perspective on real life. The music
is really where this game impresses though.
The songs are mostly focused on the lyrics
and have catchy tunes to all of them. Just
like Kingdom Hearts the ending song is
so good you'll beat the game over and over
again just to hear it. The extras at the
end give you motivation to keep
playing but after thats said and done there
isn't much to do unless you want to get all
304 pins. This game set in modern day
Shibuya, Japan is a must buy for anyone
who owns a DS and is hungry for another
great game by Square Enix.
